Uncle M - not that I want to gloat ......... 1,2, 15 tomato plants, all grown from seed, doing well and now in the greenhouse.

Bad luck but start again - it's not too late.

We are a bit behind you on planting. Never mine - Aldi has plug plants from next Thurs - tomatoes, chili, pepper and lettuce - might get your month back.....

Thanks for the sympathy - and the gloating

Nah, I don't use plugs because I grow funny varieties and save the seeds. I can't find the ones that taste the way I want as plug plants unfortunately. I'm just annoyed because I was so organised for once.

Awww, I'm not gloating really Uncle M  Feel for you. It's a shame when you spend the time and money and then it all goes tits up! What are you growing?

This year it was soldacki (a Polish variety), a Ukranian, almost black one that I got from a neighbour years ago (called something like czarny, I've forgotten the name) and a Swiss one called rose de Berne. They are all delicious, but the Polish one is my favourite.

Sound fantastic.
