I just bought a nice lightweight bike with a "Reynolds 531 Butted Frame Tubes". It's very nicely made, with Nervex lugs and transfers on the steerer and seat tubes>
I'd like to know more about this company, if anyone has the information.

Can you have another go at posting the photos? - should be a "how to" somewhere on the forum.

Anyroad, if it's 531 with Nervex, then it should be top notch.

Don't know anything about the company but the style of the Crown is George VI and with the Olympic logo that dates it to just after the 2nd World War.

To post from the bucket go to the picture - hover and you should get 3 options.Left click on Direct Copy. It will turn yellow and say "Copied".

Then post it to the forum using the green tree icon

love the lug work
Thanks Biggs682, one reason for seeking information about Toledo Cycles was to find out about the possibility of getting new transfers for the bike. The response so far makes it look quite unlikely.
I've taken loads of photographs and measurements in case (as it seems likely) nobody can trace Toledo or find any transfers. I wonder if anyone knows what sort of cost is involved in getting transfers re-manufactured?

have a look at h lloyds they offer loads and might be able to make specials , what are you intending to do with her
When I bought it, I was just looking for a lightweight frame for weekend and evening runs, I wasn't really looking for and old one, but it's such a nice frame and in such good condition I thought it would be nice to retain it's identity.
Thanks for the lead on H lloyds, I'll get on to them, but at the moment it looks as if I'll only be looking for 1 set!

Here you go;

-the lugs seem to be typical Nervex, they match all of the pictures I've been able to find and the bottom bracket is stamped "NERVEX".
The drop-outs are stamped "CYCLO" and the seat-stay tops are a nice, double-fluted design that I haven't seen before.
It has a GB stem, Weinmann Vainquer centre pull brakes and a Benelux gear shifter.
There is an identical transfer to the one on the steerer (above), fitted to the seat tube, but it has suffered over the years, this one has been covered with clear adhesive film, which has protected it very well.
I'd still like to learn about Toledo Cycles, I believe "N18" is the Edmonton area.
