Toes covers for SPD shoes

Can toe covers be used on SPD shoes or do I need the full bootee?

If they can, any recommendations please.

Just want to avoid my toes getting soaked as they did from road spray today.

Mavic fit snugly and well over my Sonoma shoes

They will get a bit tatty walking around but keep feet dry and toes warm

I have both Castelli and Sock Guy toe covers, both work fine with spd shoes.
As vickster says, they will get trashed pretty quick, so I wouldn't spend a fortune on them.

Placed order with Tredz last night for size L and today they phone and say they have no stock and that Mavic have discontinued them!

I'll just take pot luck with some DHB or Castelli from Wiggle.

Try another retailer like chain reaction ? Tredz are v unreliable when it comes to stock being available regardless of website!

What type and size of shoe? Might be worth trying xl too

Last week I tried riding in the rain in light boots that I bought for working in the garden and have used for walking the dogs in wet conditions. They worked perfect on a 12-mile round trip with flat pedals but for longer trips!!

DHB ones from Wiggle turned up yesterday and they fit my Shimano SPD shoes perfectly.
