Yeah, it should be quite easy if they are anything like mine. All it would require is to remove the reflector on the front and unscrew the clips, then it is just a simple job of unbuckling the straps and the whole thing is removed.

btw, I have kept the clips on my pedals as it helps me transfer just that bit more power than what I would when using flats. After a while you get used to using them.
I just used the straps until they wore through, then they fell off themselves.
I have kept the plastic clip part which helps foot positioning.

Do you mean taking the straps out of the toe cups so you can just slide your feet into place and rely on the strength of the steel toe clip without the strap to hold your foot in place? If you do the springy steel might not be rigid enough. You could try something like these.

I used clips and straps on road bikes for over 30 years and toe cups, like link above, on MTB for last 20. Now both have SPD's and I love them. Having to think about unstrapping when you come up to a junction or in an emergency has, I think, made the transition easier. Only clipless moment was cleat bolt dropped out. I went for SPD's (M520's) on road bike so I can use my MTB shoes if I want to use bike to pop into town or I can use dhb R1's rest of the time.

I have seen peddles with toe starps that could not be removed because they were molded in. Yours might not be the same kind and may be removable.

Some pedals, like the ones I have on my Carlton are designed to have toe clips and straps and if you removed them you would be left with a very small and slippery flat pedal. Other types are simply flat pedals with toe clips as an aftermarket ascessory, in which case there would be no problem if you removed them.
