Went out for a ride this afternoon, i had only planned to go 20 miles but managed to get lost and ended up doing nearly 30! Was chuffed because i had the wind in my face most of the ride and managed to average 17mph!

How were everyone elses rides??

That's good going  nice bonus of the extra mileage too.

I only managed a 10M cross town and back errand, in quiet traffic thankfully.
Nice morning although the ENE wind is quite strong up here.
Will get a longer run tomorrow all being well

No ride at all for me - I'd planned to go out with a friend in the South Hams this morning to avoid the RW (sorry, to make good use of deserted roads), but have gone down with a stinking cold, so stayed indoors. And on a dry bank holiday!!!

I hope other (unlurgified) people made good use of the time!

Enjoyed a really quiet ride today just as i had hoped setting out early worked a treat as we made the most of the distractions of the wedding

Rode from Widnes to the Pier Head and Liver Buildings in Liverpool, across the Mersey on the ferry and followed the quiet roads through the Wirral to Chester, Rode back home through Helsby, Frodsham and Runcorn including some good hilly climbs legs feel a bit heavy but loving it.

Distance covered = 80 miles

Did a 21 miler to Bacup, Todmorden and back home (Rochdale). Well chuffed as the wind was very strong, so it made it seem a lot further. Nice hot-dog outside the garden centre in Walsden, as well .

7 or 8 miles around the closed roads of London, followed by 40 to get back out to the greenery. Fantastic day.

22 miles around Bilthbury, Alrewas, Fradley, Armitage and Rugeley nice late one just before it got dark.

Guy on a chicken chaser passed me as I was adjusting my seat on the roadside I managed to catch him and take him happy days.

57 miles out to Gisburn Forest and then back through the Ribble Valley taking in a quick climb up The Trough. Would have gone further but 'phoned home to discover that Mrs Gti had a strop on because the wedding had finished and I was expected back earlier to demolish a garage. The joys of marriage.

A quick ten miler to enjoy the clear roads during the RW and then a 35 miler across the Fylde to Beacon Fell for a cuppa, ice cream and fruit loaf. Uphill into a strong wind all the way there which meant downhill being swept along by the wind on the way back  Country lanes are getting into a bad state of repair though and needed to be constantly vigilant for potholes and large areas of broken up surface
