3rd ride in 7 days, on my MTB with slicks (no roadbike yet...)

Difference was that at the weekend I bought shimano clipless pedals, some shoes, and bib shorts, base layer, jersey and waterproof.

Just did 21 miles, and my average is about 1.5 mph up, I think due to the pedals.

Body warm and dry, feet cold though.

I know its not massive mileage but I'm pleased.

overshoes every time this time of year, not only to keep feet drier and warmer but keep your shoes clean

quality socks make a big difference too, I spent what for me is big money on part merino socks, much lighter than any of the other winter socks I have and definitely warmer
