When i re-started cycling last August on my new mtb i got hooked. Then the lure of going faster further led me to buying my road bike to discover how good it could get.

Today it all clicked. I gave myself a longer lunch hour, and despite the weather forcast being totally wrong and me getting soaked i had the most fantastic ride. It might be i have finally got used to the pedals and have become more effecient or that i can now climb out of the saddle properly but i just loved every second of the 20 miles.

I now get road bikes. Wonderful inventions. I feel like a kid again with a new toy.

Now enjoying a few beers and smiling to myself like the silly old fool i am

20 miles in an hour, you deserve a medal my son! Most I can manage is about 14 and I'm still in my twenties!

I saw the thread title and thought, "try oiling it" but now I see what you mean. :okay:

I commute into Leeds every day. Where'd you go?
Im up in cookridge so anywhere within 10 miles or so on a lunch. Yesterday was through adel, down to arthington, pool, otley and back through bramhope so a decent amount of climbing

Might just see you today, I have in mind Cookridge, airport, Pool, Otley, Weston and possibly Askwith. Back by the main road. Whether we see each other or not, enjoy your lunchtime ride.
