I enjoyed the finish into Glastonbury, when not only was there Hugh doing the TV commentary, but you could also hear him doing the live PA commentary as well - surreal !


I dunno though, I've decided he's far less irritating than Phil & Paul.

And Boulting is now very good - maybe not as good as Imlach, but far better as the introducer/anchor than when he does his little pieces on the TdF show.

Graham Jones though is not exactly exciting, and Downing reminds me of PG Tips adverts...

The best speaker was the bloke at the starts and on the road - Carl Lawrenson - knowledgeable, engaged the crowd, lucid commentary, and at London the contrast was easy to understand. I believe he does Revolution meetings and other Manchester stuff, plus loads of crit and road stuff in the north.
Dean is a good bloke, knows what he is talking about, and is a nice guy, besides being an extremely decent rider for Rapha/Condor. Surely you don't judge a man (or woman) by looks? That's just shallow.

Ignoring his obvious discomfort in front of the camera, he's just not articulate, which is a must-have surely, as the 'specialist' pundit employed to give a racer's insight.
All too often he just answered closed-response 'yes' or 'no' to the questions being fed by Boulting, rather than expanding on them.

Manning was considerably better last year.
