Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I hav eto say that I really enjoyed my Christmas lucnh of goose. It was cooked and then carved and then put into a home made sauce and we had it with all the usual trimmings...it was a very good meal, very tasty and even though I stuffed two plate fulls down my gob I did not get thaT totally stuffed feeling I get from Turkey withing the first few mouthfulls. So yeas its worth it. But you'll need a bigger bird ttttthan you would a turkey as there is less meat on it and a LOT of fat. There is no white meat either .
it made a nice change .

Our turkey was OFF; it stank. Couldn't take any risks with a 9 y.o. and a 76 y.o. in the house. We threw it in the bin and had just the trimmings and the veg.

Hmm.............we had a goose once. It cost about five times as much as a turkey and provided one meal and some bits for a pie.

You should have gone with beef, our properly aged rib cooked to a deep velvety pink colour and just melted, you could have carved it with a spoon (and it cost a load less than any of these silly birds).
