Hi, not sure if this topic is better in General or Welcome

I posted last week to say Hi from Cardiff. I'm the one who bought the cheap bike and was rewarded with having to spend the day fixing a bent lower derailleur cage, and also some weird copy/paste errors resulting in my first post having loads of words joined together. Great!

Anyway a week forward and things are improving already. Obviously fitness has a way to go but one thing I've noticed is that low speed balance has already improved. First couple of days I had to "walk" the bike between the fence and the car when I was returning it to the shed. Now I can slowly pootle it without feeling too wobbly.

Also have been using Google Earth to find little routes that I didn't even know existed. Have lived in the area for 4 years but hadn't even explored some local roads before I got the bike!

So stick with it, hopefully I'll be posting some fitness improvement posts soon, if I can get my breath back!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it, with a bit of persistance and "keeping at it" the improvements will come quite quickly, not just in terms of speed and endurance but also general bike skills like slow speed handling.

Just today I noticed that while waiting in the que at a mini roundabout I was doing quite a long track stand. Of course, once I noticed it I had to put a foot down!

I also do the googlemaps thing too.
