If your headset starts making a clicking sound, stop and check it out immediately. Do not assume that you will make it round the busy roundabout without hearing the dreaded tearing of carbon as your handlebars come away from the steerer.

Just bruises, road rash, a whack in the unmentionables and a broken cycle helmet. Was a real 'WTF!!!' moment. Luckily the driver behind me was on the ball and not driving too close.

Oh yeah and I ruined my favourite cycle jersey.

Everything considered sounds like it went as good as it could have done.
Credit to the driver behind you.

Blimey imagine suddenly having your handlbars moving rapidly down, hang on no I won;t.

Sounds like a lucky escape, could have been much much worse as I am sure you know!
