I've finally got around to building up a bike for time trials, nothing too flash: no carbon still steel.

The deep profile wheels I bought came with a Vredstein Fortezza Tricomp, in a part worn but serviceable condition.

They don't seem to be very common, so I can't find many reviews but what there are seem favourable.

Should I get another or can you recommend something else? I'm after performance over comfort and puncture protection, around the £30 mark.

Thanks.

Pro Race 4 with latex tubes. Conti supersonics ?

Continental Supersonics or Veloflex Record's would be my choice - with the proviso that they are best for smooth dual carriageway type roads and not the usual chipping topped type roads.

Thanks all.

Yes, clinchers not tubs and almost all the local events are on minor roads, so the surfaces will be far from smooth.

From what I've read, I think the Supersonics will be too frail for me but the Pro Race look promising.

I'll have a look at the Records but from what you've said, doubt they'll be up to it.
