A couple of emergency stops in busy traffic, rear wheel got locked up and skidded, and this is what I've got. Is it dangerous to ride?

That's a shame as this one only has about 1300 miles on it. It's my fault for skidding and sliding like that...

It surprises me how fragile this tyre is, compared to schwalbe marathon which is what I had before. That marathon is wrapped in rubber as thick as my thumb.

And weighs as much as a Shetland pony!

What was your front tyre doing when your rear was skidding? I'm wondering if you were using way too much rear brake and not enough front. (Unless the road was very slippery so you couldn't risk heavy braking on the front.)

Yeh that's why I changed it but didn't realise I can't handle vittoria corsa like I handled the marathon. I snaked around traffic like a teenager and had to emergency brake down a hill.
