As the title says. I seem to have a tight/hot, not really painful heel when I stretch my hamstring. It is a bit weird as it right at the bottom of the heel and is not painful when cycling, I am not putting in mega miles maybe 125 ish mix of hilly and flat miles a week.
A quick google seems to pull up a couple of tri sites pointing at a running problem, but I don't run much apart from an hour of football a week.
Anyone had anything similar or know what it might be? I am not in major pain just notice it so at this stage don't want to go to the doctors.

Probably plantar fasciitis, sound like you have tight hamstrings and this is really an extension of tight ligaments in the lower leg and probably over-pronation.

Mine seems to come and go, if I exercise then stop for a few days it get unbearable when walking, when I exercise again they stretch out and I'm good for a few days.

A sports therapist recommended not stretching before cycling but leaning forward with feet on floor against a wall or similar when finished cycling to stretch the ligaments as they contract after exercise.

Only person she'd ever seen with ligaments as tight was another cyclist who'd also cycled all his life.

I think you are either born with it and it leads you to cycling or you develop it from cycling, however, myt daughter has the same tightness so it probably genetic and as you can't run without injury you progress into cycling.

That would make sense. I have always found I am quite restricted in stretching my hamstrings, even when I was doing martial arts for a few years. I will have a go at some appropriate exercises to see if it reduces the tightness/heat.
