I am considering getting this for my daily commute (mainly flat, <30K round trip ) , not sure if it will be up to the punishment though: i.e will the wheels be up to it? I currently commute on a Focus Izalco with Fulcrum Racing 1 wheels, which a f"#king awesome, but I get a bit p!ssed having to change the SRAM chain and block every 6 months, so thought a single speed would be a cheaper option.

Has anyone got one of these machines, and what are your thoughts on it?

It's not drilled for a rear brake. Ok for fixed, but not for single speed. For commuting you'd be much better with something like an On One Pompino or Macinato instead of a track bike (unless you're more concerned with style and looking like a hipster that is).
