Ticking Speedplay Zero

Anyone got experience of ticking Speedplay Zero?

Its the left side at the bottom of the downstroke. I have regreased via the port, and disassembled to grease properly, but its OK for a mile or two before it starts ticking again.

I've only had them a couple of months, and started ticking before they were due for a regrease.

Also tried tightening up the cleats to no avail.

I've heard it could be the bottom bracket but I've never had to do any DIY work on that. How likelyis it to Bbe the BB? The bike is only 4 months old and covered just over 1000 miles.

sure it isn't the cleats ticking? Speedplay cleats are known to make a bit of noise now and then

I've checked the tightness of all the screws, and they seem OK. They are only about 10 weeks old so wouldn't expect them to be due for replacement yet.

Got no spare shoes or different pedals to rule them out though.

It might sound a bit daft but make sure there is nothing touching the crank on the down stroke. I have come across this with laces hitting the crank or velcro straps doing the same thing. Also make sure the cable on the front mech is not catching the opposite crank.

Shoes are a right pain for noise too. Hard to diagnose. Is there anyone local who can ride your bike to see if they get the same noise ?
