Tiagra Hub with 8 speed cassette

Hi

I'm think of rebuilding a wheel with a tiagra hub. It says the tiagra hub is compatible with an 8,9 and 10 speed cassette. Even though it says this, will i need some sort of spacer with a 8 speed cassette?

8,9, and 10 speed cassettes are all the same total width, so no spacer is required.
