Tiagra chainset with non Tiagra bottom bracket

As per title, I'm looking at purchasing a Tiagra compact chainset and was thinking of fitting with an Ultegra bottom bracket which I am lead to believe that they are for 10 speed Ultegra.

Will this work and would the Ultegra BB be noticably better than the Tiagra BB?

Can't help, but was about to ask the same questions, especially the bit about quality. Coincidence.

it will all work fine.

Ultegra kit is significantly better, so in theory the bearings should last longer. they will at least work better.
