Hi,

Well I've snapped my front derailleur not surprising as the rear went last year !

However I now have a problem my bike is a 9 speed Tiagra, and all recent Tiagra's are 10 speed can so my question is can I safely replace my front 9 speed derailleur with a 10 Speed ?

Thanks

J

I am sure someone on here will know but I think triple mech is fine to use with a double. You just set the limit screws for your setup. The mech is not indexed, that's the shifter. I am sure someone will clarify.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I posted a thread about this a week or so ago - without much success. I was going to buy a10 speed but then found a 4500 at Cycling Components - unfortunately they are now shown as discontinued - maybe I bought the last one  . But they do have Sora 9 speed on clearance. £11.95 free delivery. (Great service from CC too - couldn't have been quicker).

I've been running a 10sp Front Mech With 9 Spd Tiagra since I bought my bike in 2006 (that's what Trek fitted to the 12000 that year).

Never had a problem.
