I have Shimano Acera-type gear shifters on my bikes. Shifting to larger rings with my left thumb is painful, so that on occasions I have to make shifts with my right hand. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm told it is probably arthritis. .Is there a suitable replacement for this type of gear shift which needs less thumb pressure? I suspect a twist-grip may become just as painful at some point, though I haven't tested one.

You are not the first to complain about the excessive pressure required to change gear using trigger shifters.

GripShift shifters will solve the problem for you instantly and forever.

Shi**no (spit) also manufacture rotating grip shifters but I prefer and recommend the original and best - GripShift by SRAM Corp, distributed in the UK by Fisher Outdoor Leisure Ltd.
