Bought one of these yesterday to go with my new roof bars. I haven't fitted it yet but it seems sturdy enough. It's got to be better than my halfords boot mounted cycle carrier.

Super secure and stable. When I do the Scotland run my Roubaix sits in one of them without any problems, now admittedly I'm towing so am below Thules maximum advised speed. Here to Scotland is just under 600 miles, and normally takes 11 hours with 1 refuel stop.

I've got a couple. They're fine. I've been to France with them (both chunnel and ferry) and often I ride up to visit friends and my wife drives, then we return by car.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I looked at other makes of roof carrier, but I didn't like how they grabbed the down tube as much as this one. I've seen the video showing someone nicking a bike out of one of these, but I don't plan on leaving my car unattended, with the bike on the roof.

I didn't see a advised speed for mine, what is it? Mines happy all the way up to 70 mph plus margin for overtaking if needed.

I was surprised Rose recommended it to me for a carbon bike. Only thing I do is give the bike a quick wet wipe below the water bottle cage to clear any grit off before I put it on.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
If you want to load your bike from the kerbside you can reverse the clamp set up. Easy enough if you follow the instructions provided.

Off the top of my head I seem to remember 120kph, but it's been along time since I read the instructions.
Likewise I always clean the downtube and the clamp, before putting it in the clamp.
When I got the Roubaix the dealer told me to tighten it until it grips, but don't go ape. Apparently carbon is stronger than we give it credit.
