all on the same ride, quite an achievement...............
Did my first 50 km ride today (32m), that's on an MTB and mainly off road. he good weather over the past couple of weeks has dried out most of the tracks. Except for one I hadn't tried before was particularly muddy and mucky. Deep tyre ruts full of mud.
So now well please with myself, not bad for an overweight 62 year old, "I'm nearly and old age pensioner you know".
Anyway, there I was bumbling along this rutted track of dried out mud, and decided to switch the vid on (fitted on the handlebars), that lack of concentration was my downfall, front wheel went into a patch of gloop and stopped.
I didn't, and was clipped in at the time. Trying to un-clip, trying to hold the bike and a dozen other things all in a split second. Somehow got un-clipped on the way over.
The bike went one way I went the other did a parachute landing roll and sat on my ass thinking, my knee hurts, actually they both do. Anyway no real harm done, a graze on the inside of my left ankle and knee and that's all. A very slight twist of the other knee, but that didn't last long.
What really hurt was the fact that I never managed to switch the vid on BEFORE, that would have been a corker.
Bike's OK, the saddle ended up at 90deg somehow but soon rectified.
Feel like I've been blooded at last.
