Steve Chainal takes his first pro-win (and about time too!), but the situation is looking ideal for David Millar to take the overall on the final day's TT. He finished just three seconds behind with most of the other favourites a further 45 seconds back and the field more than 2 minutes down.

I really like these 3-day events (like this and the Criterium) - fast and furious bite-sized tours with a bit of everything!

Millar seems to be having a good spell at the moment and so I hope he gets this one for the overall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam Blythe is in the leading break at the mo (with his team capt'n Phil Gilbert amongst others). I saw him as a 14-year-old mixing it with (and beating) men twice his age at Mildenhall in the grass-track racing and he impressed me so much I resolved to remember his name as I thought I'd probably hear of him again.

Millar still riding well. He was in a second group of 8 or so riders and he's now 12 seconds down on general in 4th. There's still a flat sprinter's stage of 112 ks tomorrow before the tt which is only 15 ks long, so margins between riders will be small.
Anyone watch today's stage? Wet, windy, filthy conditions - a real Flanders race. ;)

Interesting - apparently he's down to do the Tour of Flanders this coming sunday too.

I reckon Millar may have misjudged this in letting Grivko (in particular) and Paolini get so much time on him - Grivko has 12 seconds and I don't think he'll lose that to Millar in a TT of that length.

Grivko can tt for sure. Millar was chasing hard in the second bunch. I still think he'll do it but it's going to be close. Mind you, they'll have to keep an eye on breakaways in the morning stage.

Millar still has a good chance providing he doesn't take his eye off the ball during the first road stage on Thursday. However he will really need to put in a strong TT if he wants to stand on the top step!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, nothing changes after 3a... a win for Farrar at last though. Millar stuck to Grivko like glue by the look of it.

That's right - screening starts about 3.30.
Let's both put links up so we've got a choice. Some of these streaming sites can be a bit dodgy.....
