I've discovered that while it is possible to fit a centre lock disk brake rotor either way round, only one of these ways is correct.
I've also learned that when you get the above wrong, no amount of swearing, stamping or head scratching will make the rear wheel fit into the dropouts correctly.
It's been an interesting afternoon......
