Very quiet for us. Daughter at boyfriends till Christmas Day, son away till Boxing Day. Me and MrsF will have a wander out to grab a meal at a nice pub locally this evening (Xmas Eve) before we do the meal at home tomorrow.

Watching cheesy Christmas Moves, Die Hard, close Encounters (on now whoop).

We stopped the silliness with presents for all of us on my side, but we just buy for the kids. None of us need anything.

It's much different with grown up kids but I like the time to relax.

To top it off were escaping for some Vitamin D on 10th Jan in Madera for a week.

Yebbut.... Maybe the "Grinches of the forum" have things we like about Christmas, as well as things we don't?
So I am replying to your thread for the sake of balance!

Things I like about Christmas:
The break from work (although for most of my working life I worked shifts through the whole "holiday" period, so that didn't apply. In fact it made it even worse. However that was then, this is now).
The buzz around most pubs in the week leading up to Christmas.
An excuse to catch up with some people that I rarely see otherwise.
SOME of the Christmas songs are quite listenable (but only for a limited period, NOT beginning in November).
Good food being supplied by others.
Chocolate in abundance. Same for Guinness and Jamaican rum.

And that's about it!

Very similar. Just swap Madeira for Tenerife.

Enjoy the hols, nice food and free time 😁

The only thing I like about Christmas is the Brewdog advent calendar. Mind you it’s the 24th and I have only imbibed of 1, 2 & 3 ( I do drink them in day order even though it’s not the right date).
