Got a weird thing going on with my left thigh. I had a cycle out the other day, reasonable distance and it felt like a muscle popped out of place in my thigh. I moved my leg around and it seemed to come ok. Anyhoo yesterday i went out and i couldn't get far without it making me stop in pain. Without cycling it seems there is nothing wrong... but on the bike it appears. Best way to describe the muscle at fault is, standing up, lift your left left leg till our foot is level with your right knee, then tilt your left leg till your left foot is in front of your right knee. Or maybe a simpler way is an attempted standing up cross leg. I feel it both directions so tilting away it happens too. That action either way pulls the muscle in question. If it doesn't go away i will make a doc's appointment Monday. Just wanted your opinion first. Thanks!

do you have any idea how many people have just tried this and fallen over? Their families are looking at them, thinking 'he/she has finally cracked. I knew that cycling mullarkey was no good for them

I was over winter. Lately i have been on geared. Brompton and road bike. Although the seat on my brompton was forward from new, (this week) i'm not sure if that caused it. It felt ok tho.

Small update. Took a short ride and cycling tilting my left leg in toward top bar as I pedal gives no pain. If I cycle with leg going straight up and down it feels like a muscle out of place. Sorry just concerned.

Alright i've been checked out and just updating for anyone else doing a google search for the same problem.

If there is no visible signs it will just be a muscle strain. Nothing serious and about a week to heal keeping active. Anti inflammatories over the counter will help. No need for tubey grip that high in the leg. No problems walking and since it only happens cycling there is where the problem started. I believe it was having the Brompton's saddle too far forward as i've never had any problems over thousands and thousands of miles.

I'm sure i'm not the only one that goes a bit hypochondriac over cycling related injuries. Its a big part of our lives. :bicycle:
