When we got back to our hotel this afternoon we found a dead man in the foyer.

Well, we didn't find him, he'd been there for two hours and the poor chap was covered by a white linen table cloth. Apparently he'd had a heart attack and died on the spot, he was covered up, and yellow tape was put around the area so we guests didn't trip over him, cops and security staff just standing around, a member of staff was vacuuming the carpet area nearby. No one could move him because they had to wait for a coroner.

We went to our rooms to get the bike cases as I needed to pack the bikes up ready for the trip home. I had to walk by the body within two feet of him with two cycle cases. It too me 90 minutes to dismantle and pack the bikes, then I took them back to the room, past the body, which was still there. I was struggling to manoeuvre the cases on their wheels around the area, when one started to topple over toward the body. I just managed to save it, it would have landed on his feet!

Classy hotel eh?

Article in the paper the other week, after Thatcher croaked at The Ritz, about people popping their clogs in hotels. Basically I think the rule is, famous stiffs out the back under cover, plebs out the front in whatever way is convenient for the hotel.

Not sure what the OPs point is though. Fancy letting a need to establish cause of death get in your way! Perhaps you should demand a refund for your inconvenience, and compensation for the severe trauma the entire incident must have caused you.

"Classy hotel"? Its not the hotels fault where or when he dies, neither the blokes. People die. It doesnt mean that it should ruin the reputation of a hotel. I bet over the years they have had many people found in their rooms dead.
I dont understand people who dislike seeing dead people. You will die eventually and some poor chap will have to put you in a bag or a box and put you in the ground or furnace.

Dieing is a fact of life. Just like birth.

I'd imagine for the owner of a hotel, a shop, a pub, a cafe or any other public building, having one of your customers die on the premises must be one of their biggest nightmare.
