has anyone on here ever done it?, i know its a bit expensive at £25 but its a charity event so i dont mind.

i just want to know what the pace is going to be like, because last thing i want is to be swept up on a charity ride

plus i have never done a 100 mile ride so will be a challenge

anyone else doing it?

Not doing the York 100 but I am doing the Peterborough 100 in April for the same charity. I too have never cycled 100 miles - the most I have done is 50 miles but feel with some training I can achieve the big 100. Just want the weather to improve slightly so that I can get out on my new road bike that has been sitting in the garage since mid December. In the meantine all my training is gym based.
Good luck for the York 100.

My uncle rode it last year and really enjoyed it. Good food stops and a mix of riders. It's also not too hilly so probably a good choice for a first 100 miler.

I did it last year. Very well organised, good communication and good feed stations. I will be doing it again this year and also doing the AMR Peak District 100.

York is a good route with two or three hard climbs, but they are fairly short with one being quite steep at around 15 - 18%.

If you get some good training in with some climbing you will be fine.

Last year before the event I rode generally about twice to three times a week with very short climbs here and there, I found York challenging but well within my limits and found it very enjoyable.
Sign up, you really should as its a great event. Hey if you give me some details I'll even ride it with you ;)
