Does anyone on here play the Uke? There is few old threads but I can’t see anything more modern. I got into the Uke a few years ago and then stopped playing but I’ve really got into it over the past few months and I’m mildly obsessed.

I play mandolin (and mandola, octave mandolin and Irish bouzouki) and often get asked at gigs if I play the uke.

Never tried, if I'm honest, but if I looked at the tuning I'm sure I could get my head round it in a few minutes.

Honestly if I can learn it without too much difficulty, you can! I really love it! So sweet and cheeky!

I play bass but can also manage EUB, double bass, violin (badly) and guitar too. The only instrument I've never got on with was the drums, always found it a bit like rubbing your tummy while patting your head.

I'd give uke a go if the chance arose. Always fancied the balalaika as well but there aren't many of those about to have a go on.

I play ukulele, guitar, bass guitar and am just starting to fumble about on mandolin.
In the uke band that I belong to, I play a solid electric uke to provide some lead bits, but today at the local library I shall probably play an acoustic one as part of a small Xmas singing effort....

It's easy to get obsessed by uke ownership. One of my friends seems to acquire a new one every few weeks. But some of those have been gifted to him, as he volunteers to teach ukulele at a local primary school. I am a bit worried to hear that, just yesterday, he has added a ukulele banjo to his considerable stable! Maybe he needs it to be heard over the cacophony of pupils in his lessons!

George Harrison was a big fan of 'Ukes'

I’ve just bought 30 on Vinted to start a Uke club at school next term!! 🤣

I've got a banjo ukulele, bought it and practiced for about half an hour a day until I could do a passable version of Waltzing Matilda, but then put it down and forgot about it for a few years.

I found it again a few weeks ago and tuned it up though, so maybe one day.

I have several ukes and am seriously out of practise - ! It's the old, old story of allocating enough time in one's schedule of life's goings ons that is the issue.
The GLW is skilled at guitar, uke & mandola /in, but oddly we both have a problem of not wanting to practise when t'other is in the house.

I'm kind of busy playing this lot. Might have to reschedule to fit in anything else.
