Will the sore legs ever leave me ?

I'm cycling every day now.
I go a bit faster and a bit further than I could now.

The pain hasn't changed, just the speed and distance.

Is it because I'm a newbie, or will it just alwatys be like this ?

Keep at it and it will get easier... no pain no gain as the old saying goes.

Not sure I agree. Suggest getting in more rest days. This gives the muscles chance to re-build themselves stronger.

It also depends on how hard you are pushing yourself. I find that if I go very steady, I can go out the next day without problem. However if I push harder and more intensely then need to take at least one day off.

it will always hurt to ride fast, you will just go faster for longer...

riding slower and further should become easier though, not as much fun though

Take some of what Steve is saying on board too. You need ample rest for the legs to recover so throw in a few quality rest days and eat/drink right nutrition to speed up your recovery.

You're not giving yourself enough time to recover. The pain you're feeling is from damaged muscle fibres. If you stay off the bike for at least two days the pain should ease and you'll be giving your muscles a chance to repair themselves. You'll probably find that after the rest it will be easier.

It's best to have at least one day a week off the bike if you can. Failing that, take things gently by not pushing yourself every second day will make a big difference - at least it does to me!
