I've no idea what it is - do you fancy giving us a clue? ;)

A link to the event website would be good!

Thought it might be a Rutland ride ..... however can't conjure up anything on Google. More to the point, I've just noticed the OP's "Holmfirth" location, so I'm guessing I was wide of the mark anyway

Yep that's in Rutland..

I thought about it as its just up the road, but given my (exercise bike ) record (in one sitting) of 24km LOL...maybe next year!

Might come along and clap though

Not that familiar with the area to be honest; I can see it skirts Rutland Water and just wondered if the route includes any of the hills which were part of the Peterborough 100 which took place in the Spring?

No, I won't be riding that one!

If I do an event that day it will be Season of Mists from Hebden Bridge which will only cost me £3.50 rather than £27 and will be somewhat easier for me to get to!

It would be nice to do a flat century ride again some time though. Perhaps I should organise a CC ride next spring avoiding the hills I usually target?

I've had enough of riding my bike up the side of cliff faces, into the teeth of howling gales every other weekend (must be going soft in my old age).

I decided to sign up for something reasonably flat, in a part of the country I don't know at all...... Should be different if nothing else.

I bet you'll enjoy it. I ride a singlespeed bike in the midlands on my frequent family visits back there and it makes a nice change from struggling on the hills round here.

Wind could still be a problem though because there won't be much in the way to stop it battering you - just pray for a calm day!
