The next bit of my U turn...

A while ago in Tour and Expedition we had a wee discussion about touring to raise money for charity on this thread . Originally I never thought I'd do it, but because of a change in circumstances (its all explained in the thread), I'm going to try to raise a bit of money for Pancreatic Cancer UK on the LEJOG I'm doing in August this year.

If you'd like to sponsor my ride I'd be grateful for your support. Bits of me may never be the same again after this venture although I'm wildly excited about it  ...there is a just giving page here and - wey hey - there's a reasonably tasteful picture of me riding my bike on it too.

If you find the whole thing distasteful then please don't be unkind. I'm doing this because I will lose a close family member to pancreatic cancer in the coming years.

Thanks for the donation dom. It's the nearest i could get to an 'action shot' (arf arf) which actually relates to what I'm doing, you can see what I look like and I don't look like about-to-explode-beetroot-head-woman. I had a choice of one.

I'm just resurrecting this thread to let you all know that I completed my LEJOG on Saturday lunchtime. The total trip distance was 1102 miles (including the rides to the start and finish, and we got lost a couple of times too ) and we completed it in 14.5 days.

Thanks to everyone from cyclechat who sponsored and supported my ride - it had some magical moments and definitely a few I'd rather forget!

Hopefully there'll be some piccies up on our fotopic site in the next few days and I fancy writing one of those crazyguyonabike triplogs once i get a bit of time so I don't forget it all!

Cheers everyone (new legs please!)
Kx

I have piccies (including one of my legs - not shown: pain) but I'll have to sit down and sort them onto the computer as I am trying to plough through a thousand work emails at the moment. Bear with me for a couple of days!

Well done Kirstie, sounds like you had a great time and created some nice memories for you to keep and even managed to raise some money for your charity in the process.

As for the emails, Ctrl-A followed by Ctrl-D generally does the trick I find!

Well done!
