I would love to but will only have just got back from the MTB Marathon. It is a lovely neck of the woods. My Sister and her family live near there and I keep thinking I should take a cycle tour down to her.
95 miles with 2 bloody big hills in it.

Anyone else entering 10th July 2011?

Nice one by the sounds. If the weather stays good I am going to try it on Saturday

.
I downloaded it onto my Garmin as a course and still need plenty of miles on the road to get me ready for the trip up North
Be good to have a bit of company on the actual date as well if folks are getting together in Waterlooville?

The weather was brilliant and it was as tough as I thought it would be. Met some great guys who made great company on the ride

96.75 on the Garmin completed in 5 hours 9 minutes and 34 seconds

Got to be happy with that

You got that a bit wrong, it was 97 miles with 97 bloody big hills in it!!

Great day, weather was good, found it really tough in places but really enjoyed it.

Not going to put my time but let's say it was significantly slower then yours, you must have flown round.

I felt that way after the MTB Marathon. What made me feel better was looking that the results spreadsheet and working out how many of the entrants failed to finish.

Chris,

It was a bit of a chore but it's all good stuff

Well done for finishing Buddy. Some really looked like they needed a tow but they did work their socks off!

Thank you. At about 60 miles I wasn't sure I was going to. But got a second wind about 65 miles.

And overtook 4 people on the final climb so still had a little left!

By far my biggest distance including hills. (have gone further but that was at flat-out in the fens!) so really pleased.

I was on the epic ride, bit harder than I had anticipated in the middle 30. Didn't help with an early ferry from the Island and an 11 mile ride to the start. Mind you that was easier than the 11 mile road home, Chris that included the climb up Wooton High Street and up Brocks copse road, just what I needed!!

I think I drove past you. After the 16:00 Ferry from Portsmouth?

It did look like you were finding it hard going, then when I went past and saw your number from the event I realised why. Good effort.

Felt a bit guilty for not stopping and offering you a lift, now I feel really guilty. Sorry. (Although I would have struggled to get your very nice looking bike in the back of the car with mine.)
