Can we just stop discussing a man who is now an admitted liar, doper, bully, etc. He has succeeded in starting a massive publicity bandwagon, wants to come back and play at something and be forgiven. Sorry, but no.
Quite simple, why bother discussing this person, waste of time and effort. No further comment.
The season is new, the first small arces at the weekend indoors at the London show (well done to the organisers, very entertaining and well fought by the riders), and the first domestic road race is less than three weeks away on 10 February, Perfs RR run by the same guy for 40+ years.
The sort of person worth talking about, no self confessed liars and cheats.

Can you tell me with your hand on your heart that the people who facilitated Lance Armstrong's deceitful sporting career are no longer operating within the sport, either as riders, team directors, doctors or UCI members ?

If you're asking Lukesdad (which you aren't), I need to point out that he doesn't have a heart.

This can't be a naive OP, because oldroadman knows more than most what goes on out there.

The biggest problem cycling has now is that the ex-pros who doped are still working in the sport at all levels and many seem to have the same cynical attitude as ever, meaning that they continue to faciltate doping or even supply products - a case in point is the supply operation involving ex-Communitat Valenciana rider, Jose Luis Martinez, who according to a Spanish police investigation was involved in this whilst working as a doping control chaperone - you know, the people who are supposed to be making sure that nothing dodgy is going on - a perfect cover for allowing dodgy things to happen!

This is why we can't just 'let bygones be bygones' or forget the past, or stop ongoing investigations into Armstrong or the others who are yet to be revealed or confess.

Not a claim I can make for myself, just have been around a bit for a while, and seen/heard things.
I would say to any rider, if you are not happy with something and think wrongdoing is happening, report it to your country's ADA, then let them deal with it.
