Dear Club Members

You are receiving this as a Cycling Club member who may be interested in testing yourself on the most challenging Sportive Terrain in the country, starting on the 14th April 2013. So when you are gazing at that second mince pie. Think again and get out and train. You wont regret it. The routes have been finalized, the gpx files uploaded and the events are now officially open to take entries...!

The Sledge Hammer

Challenge yourself with one of the toughest sportives in the South of England - 157 km and 3,600 m of climbing to make an incredible ride and a real achievement. The effort will be well worth it though with spectacular views and a great tour through a very beautiful area. Are you tough enough for the test?
The Claw Hammer

The Sledge Hammer's little brother, is an incredible event and a great sportive that will give you an immense sense of achievement. With 103 km and 2,083m of climbing the iconic route takes in many of the South Hams most beautiful spots and will give you a huge feeling of satisfaction. So sign up today for a stunning challenge in South Devon!
Accommodation

For those planning to stay in the area there are a range of Hammer deals in place to allow you to stay in great accommodation for a special price. Full details will be on the Hammer website soon and be sure to quote 'Hammer' when booking to secure your discounted package.
The night before

On the Saturday 13th April we have arranged a fantastic choice of local restaurants and pubs for you to have a great meal the evening before the Hammer events. Each venue is offering a special 'Hammer Menu' and you will be seated with fellow competitors to get everyone in the right frame of mind! Full details will be online soon - please ensure you book with us to guarantee your energy filled dinner at a very special price.
Event Village Format and Timings

Venue: Kingsbridge Community College (same as the start/finish)
Opening times: Saturday 13th April, 14.00 to 17.30
Sign on: registration to collect rider packs and allow last minute entries (subject to an additional £10 charge)

Local food & drink producers
Other Exhibitors will be added and confirmed in the run-up to the event, this promises to be a truly continental experience and not definitely to be missed…! For pictures taken around the route and to share your cycling experiences be sure to check out our Facebook page.
For those people with younger children or wanting a more leisurely experience we are organizing the “Family Hammer” – a 30km event that will give everyone the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of a cyclo-sportive. More details will be available online soon...!

I did this last year too. Cracking ride, well organised. (Won't be doing it this year as I've stopped doing sportives - much prefer the longer audaxes).

Very difficult to find the information on these web sites either. Is the information classified?

I was really interested in doing this but I agree with you.
The site is really shitty to navigate and find the information you want, its a great example of style over content.... Content is king !!

For anyone who's interested you will find the costs in the terms and conditions PDF linked to at the bottom the of site. Along with at the very bottom the page where you sign up (why this is not at the top so people can easily see it is beyond me)

Im out based on the terms and conditions alone. :headshake:
