Which Contis?

I don't know what is going on this year, but I have been plagued with punctures across all my bikes (I stopped counting at 20). They even defeated my slime filled innertubes!
As an experiment I have got some tyre liners from Australia, which I am testing on the CX bike, which have been successful so far this month.

Oh for the record I normally get less than 2 punctures a year & run contis on each bike.

Which Contis?
Ultra Sport 2, which it came with. They seem to have the puncture resistance of wet tissues.

I know there are far better Contis, but in terms of a mid price tyre with a good balance between rolling resistance and puncture proofing, I've been very impressed with the Rubino Pros. I put them on my B'Twin to commute and I think I've had two punctures in 3000 miles, and one of them was impact rather than an actual puncture.

Went out for a ride yesterday afternoon on the Cube; half a hour later, the fifth rear wheel p*nct*re in less than 500 miles of riding it.

The Contis are coming off. The Vittoria Rubino Pros are going on.
Won't make a difference.

Unless you ride Chinese "Who Flung Dung" branded tyres you got on ebay for £2.99 the pair all the tyres from the major manufacturers are pretty much of a muchness. Punctures are down to luck, two years without one and three in a week is how it happens.

Which Rubino Pros? And what caused the puncture?
It was the Contis I got the puncture on, yesterday's was caused by a tiny piece of flint which the Rubino Pro would have spat out.

I already have a set of 23c slick Rubino Pros but I'm going to buy a pair of 25's with the tread, like the 23's I run on the B'Twin.

Nah, can't agree I'm afraid. I have to take three spare tubes out every time I ride the Cube, I have no confidence in the tyres.

2 punctures within 10 miles in seperate wheels. Then 60 miles later a total sidewall blow out. All from tyres less than 400 miles old. I am switching back to Continentals GP4000s. I am sure it is just luck, but it will make me feel better.

Looks a great deal (£20 per tyre: P&P is £4).
Pro 4 Service Course is meant to be an all-round tyre: grip, puncture resistance, rolling resistance, and durability. Apparently, mounting the 25-622 tyre on a 17c rim, this comes up wide: actual (measured) width is 28mm and height is 26mm: make sure it will fit your frame.
