Any ideas what i was? Im thinking late 60s carlton.

Frame appears to be chrome plated with a blue 'shellac' over it. Brooks saddle . Hangers for centre pull brakes and what looks like a Williams crank set.

Carlton Cobra, pre Crespera lugs era. Number should be on the rear dropout. Blue was usually ten speed.

I used to lust after a Cobra in my teens - I seem to remember a catalogue where it was available as just a frame.

Worth it for the saddle alone. It should buff up nicely with a bit of care. I agree that the forks look like they have taken a bit of a bash.

If im honest,i only bought it because -

A. It had a brooks on,a Williams crank set and a pair of 27x11/4 wheels what im after.

B. It was local.

C. It was 99p.

If anyone wants the frame they're welcome to it gratis.
