The Bike Stork brought me... a Wiggins!

The much anticipated bike stork finally arrived yesterday evening with my Wiggins Rouen 650 :hyper:

Managed a short 10 minute ride this morning - still in the process of sorting out saddle height and other stuff, but first impression was wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee as opposed to the huff, puff, lumpitty, bounce that I'm used to. What a revelation. And I didn't fall off

Just need to figure out how to raise the handlebars a tad...

Think I made the right decision going for the Wiggo as opposed to the Triban. It's a really, really nice bike. Reckon once I've gotten me comfy on it, I'll have loads of fun.

The MTB is being turned into a commuter, as due to some last-minute change of plans, I find myself needing something I'm happy to leave in a bike rack at the station for the next three or four months. So like it or not, it's got a stay of execution ...

Enjoy the new bike
I would hold off raising the handlebars for a few more rides it such a big change from flat bars to drops you might just get use the new riding position

No, the forks aren't on back-to-front - they're meant to be like the ones on the posh Pinarellos

Have done about 30 miles on it so far, mostly five mile spins. Will be tackling something longer later in the week. It's a really nice bike to ride, very responsive compared to my old MTB, but still need to tweak the riding position a little bit to get it to where I need to be - bring saddle forward a touch and rotate the bars back a little, methinks.

So far, it seems to be working well as a bike for a shorter lady

Nicely;I'd just move the saddle forward a bit first although it looks like there isn't much leeway left,if it's still a stretch you may need an in-line seat post as I don't think those bars need raising much more.

Might find that a little more height on the seat post may be enough to roll you forwards on to the bars more but make sure you are not extending your legs too much on the down-stroke.

Oh and please remove the nasty wheel reflectors:thumbsup:

@Elybazza61 - I still had about 10mm leeway on the saddle, so have moved it forward that much and we'll see how it goes. :okay: Can always move it up a bit as well. Otherwise I might have to get an inline seat post, as I gather, based on what I've read, that I can't simply flip the post round 180 degrees. Am using the bike to commute at the moment (have lost patience with the MTB) so the reflectors will stay for now

@smutchin - yessss, I am rather aware of their bike assembly blonde moments

Tested out the new tweaks to the riding position tonight, and it's made a really big difference. I feel a lot more confident. But still need to both raise the saddle and rotate the bars back just a tad, and then I think I'll have sussed it. Was a real pleasure to be out this evening.
