Hi,
I have been looking at the site for a while and this is my second post.
I new to cycling and bought a Trek road bike 7 weeks ago and today I cracked my first 50. I am absolutely buzzing.
I had no intention of trying it today but went out into the countryside of West Lancashire this morning and as I was approaching home looked at my computer and it said 47 mile. I thought sod it and rode around the block a few times and ended up in 50.7. My time was 3 1/2 hours, and I am happy with that as my route wasn't planned and I explored some beautiful countryside. I think I could better that if I planned the route and got onto some faster roads.
I am doing the Manchester - Blackpool run next Sunday, so for me to crack the 50 before that is mentally significant;.
Sorry to go on but I think an occasion like this is worth marking. I am off to the pub now to have a beer and celebrate.
