Can any of you tell me what (if any) is the correct term for the type of middle chain ring (in a triple chain ring configuration) which has 10 bolt circles, i.e. onto which the small chain ring is bolted? Also, what is the term for the one with only 5 bolt circles?

I've been doing various internet searches, and I've found out about type A, B and D chain rings, however these terms seem to be used purely to indicate compatibility between large, middle and small chain rings. I couldn't find any terms to distinguish between the middle chain rings with 5 bolt circles, and those with 10.

Here's an example of the chain ring with 10 bolt circles, from SJS Cycles:

and one with only 5 bolt circles, from CRC:

Not sure if there is a term for the middle ring, other than middle ring but both are for 5 arm cranksets. They differ in design as they come from 2 different chainsets.
The Tiagra FC4603, which you refer to as a ten bolt, is engineered to have the inner ring attach to the middle ring.
The Sora FC3403 model has a different design, the inner ring is bolted directly to the crank. What chainset do you have?
