Can anyone please tell me what are the names for conventional dropouts, where the wheel mount is an almost horizontal slot in the dropout and the later(?) type where there is simply a vertical cut out to mount the wheel.
As far as I'm aware they're just called vertical and horizontal dropouts. Horizontal dropouts can also include be mistaken for track ends, however, which are rear facing, as opposed to the classic forward facing horizontal dropout.
Luvvly Jubly, not a lawyer lip among them. I notice the nanny brigade have now decided to fit the things on the back as well as the front, making the term "Quick release wheel" obsolete.
