Newbie to the road biking. Been a mtber for a few yrs. I have a trek 1.7 09. Very nice bike for my needs, but the saddle is a bit uncomfy.
Any advice on a decent saddle?

Well last time I checked I was male.. and yes it is on my road bike.
Had a friend try my bike today he said that the saddle was like an ultra comfy armchair...

And Auntie Helen rode a few miles on the saddle too...

balloburn - you need to get a saddle that fits *you*. Just because one person finds a saddle the most comfy thing, does not mean that it will definitely be right for you too.

In my case, the answer is most definitely not a Brooks, it's a Terry Liberator. Saddles are a very personal thing.

Mr Burntballs - you haven't said what the discomfort is. It could be the saddle (basic saddle, came with the bike, yes?) or it could be the setup. More details please!

...and I said it was an amazingly uncomfortable saddle for me... It was just the wrong shape for my sit bones!

Massage your infinitives with surgical spirit. They'll soon toughen up.

With my current saddles, I haven't had to massage infinitives or anything else to toughen them up to fit the saddle, as it was comfortable from first ride!
