Sad news, one of the greatest drummers ever passed away.

I've been lucky enough to have a drink and a chat with the fella quite a few times in Leicester and Derby. A lovely bloke.

His drumming powered Rory Gallagher through Rory's most energetic years, which by definition means he was outstanding.

See them both (and bassist Gerry McAvoy) on blinding form here, emphatically demonstrating that there's nothing in live music more exhilarating than Ted, Rory and Gerry going all-guns-blazing:
