For anyone having trouble doing the update. I had to move the unit away from all wifi and bluetooth. Use a usb extension and tape it to the green light on the unit. Do a manual pairing and it will work.

I think bkool is implying that if your unit light doesn't blink when you switch it on then there is a problem getting the update.

Just did the mountain goat ride for this week (I think)-my longest climb by far and just couldn't put in the same power as the climbs I did last week after a long day at work.
Not sure I've got the hang of this really as my ride shows on my profile but not on the league and when I click on it it says my weight is invalid. I haven't changed it. I originally put my weight in kilos on bkool but like to see the distances in miles so swapped the units over. It seems to have far too many 00000s on my weigh when I look at it. Any ideas?
Not that it really matters as I'm not going to be troubling anyone with my times-but all good practice for me
How do you get the unit to even register there is an update-it did once but my husband dismissed it and it never showed again?
Sorry so many questions as a newbie

What to introduce myself, both new to the cyclechat forum & bkool trainer. I have been using the Bkool for just over a week and love it, in fact haven't ridden out on the road since I've owned it.

I'm also struggling to upload the firmware update, however I can still use the trainer so I haven't bothered trying again recently (got bored)...

My username is Monte on the Bkool and I will be keeping an eye out for any group sessions to join.

See you in bkool world soon

Jellybaby.

Your ride is now showing in the results. It'll show in the overall result tomorrow sometime. I'm guessing bkool knows your approximate correct weight without it being a factor of 10 out or your time taken would be way out as well. You should be able to re-input/check your weight in your bkool page under your name then Profile. Should be no problem to change.

It's right in my profile which is why it's a bit weird! Thanks for your help

When it comes to League runs there are tactical advantages to making an early run.

1/ If you're not happy with your time you have a chance to recover and re-run it later.
2/ If you are happy with your run you can relax.
3/ We all have good days and bad days. You may not have the right ghost to follow if you make an early run, but if you're having a good day your ghost will be quick and if your closest competitor is having a bad day they will not be able to follow your ghost.

I think only the very confident can afford to use last minute tactics ;)

Welcome Monte,

Have you found the Cyclechat leagues yet? Geoff (Gbrown) on here organizes the Cyclechat Chain Gang for Thursday evenings and Bill organises the Mountain Goats league.

As many of us as possible meet at 7pm Thursdays with a re-run for those who couldnt make it on Saturdays at 5pm.
