I stayed on the 52 all ride with just 11-26 on the back, so 52-26 slowed me down a little, I should've dropped it but there was something in me saying stay on the 52.

Taking it easy they said. Stay together they said. Pah! :notworthy: I had some sort of glitch which threw me ahead of you guys by a few seconds and then it rectified itself when I slowed way down putting you 8 seconds in front of me. I couldnt get back to you at all - couldnt generate enough power!! Felt ok when I was able to draft though.

Great riding guys. Really shows me how far I have to go yet. Could only average around 180 Watts for the distance. :girldance:

Can I ask how long have you guys been riding and how many times a week do you be on the bike?

I've been riding about 2.5 years. Started with commutes and 10 milers that killed me. Gradually increased the miles and got a 100k sportive under my belt. Then joined a club and now try and want to do 3500 miles this year. Hardest ride so far was a Help for Heroes sportive. Tidworth in Wiltshire to central London, the distance wasn't bad but it started at 2am and I got to the finish just before 9am. I'm in the Pru 100 ride and I'm doing Velothon Wales this year. I'm trying to move up from the intermediate group in the club to the advanced group. My fastest ride so far was last year, 44 miles at 19 mph average, really enjoyed it. Most of the time I sit at about 16mph averages for 60 miles, but it all depends on the group.

Aiming to do about 100 - 120 miles a week min, 2 or 3 road rides and a couple of Bkool rides a week when the weather improves. I've not got off to a great start, 426 miles so far this year, but only 100 or so on the road

We got a bit of drafting, but Rob broke free and I had to stay with him

Hello fellow firmware update sufferers:

I have been getting timeout problems. I emailed Bkool and sent them a copy of my log report from the Bkool indoor. This was their response:

"Thanks for your message. Please wait for our upcoming Bkool Indoor release (before March 9th). Sorry for the inconvenience."

Fingers crossed this update sorts it out!

I just got the same response:

"Thanks for your message. Please wait for our upcoming Bkool Indoor release (before March 9th). Sorry for the inconvenience".

Here's hoping.

Thanks for the detailed reply kipster. Much appreciated. Always good to know other people's history so I've a rough idea of how long it'll take me to get anywhere near that level!

I've been on the bike since Nov but in year gone by did some mountain biking so have a certain amount of muscle memory in there. Never did big miles though!

best to date is 30 miles at 17 mph. Wold love to double that mileage by the end of the summer.

Have you got a non race oriented club near you, at that distance and average you should be good for 50 at 14.5 to 15 mph (assuming similar ascent profile). It's also easier in a group. I try a put in a target sportive as it give me something to work towards. It doesn't have to be an expensive wiggle one. A local school is doing a 60 mile route in May, ascent of 5500ft, but as much cake as I can eat at the feed stops. All in for £15 which the school gets a tenner of.

There's a couple of possible clubs which I could join but still not sure which one to go with!

Have my eye on a sportive or two as i like something to work towards. Options are maybe a bit more limited in N.Ireland but once I hook up with a club I'm sure it'll give me a boost!

Been riding couple years properly, mainly mtb and cx but got a proper road bike and joined a road club where I'm moving too.

currently a week day bachelor so cycle Mon, Tues and thurs, more if I can. approx 100 miles a week at the moment. normally long Tuesday and a speed run Thursday. fasted ride was 40 miles at 20 mph which was hard. I climb and sprint ok but need better flat pace.

I've done a number of off road events, and long distance cx sportives

I like country walks, cinema, fine Win... sorry wrong forum..

Think I'm going to by a second bike for turbo use, an Alloy Giant Defy 0 I think, to save the carbon bike for summer rides outside. Comes with an 11-32 so good for the Goats, sounds like a 52 or 53 crank would be good for the descents!

Sounds like you guys enjoyed the session, I'm looking forward to Thursday ...
