Am I the only one hearing this?

So often he will replied with "yes, well ler...........". Made me cringe with goose bump.

Moment: pronounced as moment-ch. Many more words end with pronouncing ch, ch and more ch.

His native is english right, ok Irish. Does all Irish pronounce like that? Am curious.

I'm not taking credit away from him as his one of the most decorated cyclist. But are they short of experience and better commentators?

BTW, I have nothing against him personally.

Who are you talking about?

It's just how the world is these days. Similar to poor grammar, lack of appropriate capitalisation and sentences that make no sense within forum posts.

PS: for balance, I'm not free of all of the above 'charges' when I post.

i prefer kirby and kelly to itvs offering. i dont want to listen to someone who sounds like little lord fauntleroy who also was a drugs cheat.

Sean Kelly was one of the hardest of hard riders, and the most generous – still chatting with fans when all the others had long gone to their hotel rooms. As for mispronunciation of foreign names, we all do it, the French, the Germans, the Americans.

I actually like Millar's commentary - it's usually insightful and it's certainly not monotone either - and agreeing with a no is standard behaviour with my mother anyway so I'm pretty immune to it. Even Ned has become pretty knowledgeable about pro cycling in a fairly short time. He's got that commentators' excitability but his voice feels more rounded and less inane than Carlton Kirby and less hectoring than that Simon Brotherton who the BBC use (I think he's one of their in-house radio sports commentators who think that an excited wall of sound technique is what the job's about).

Oh, and Ned's French pronunciation is pretty good.

Because it's not like Kelly ever failed a drugs test or anything, or was on a seriously sketchy team that got busted...

So because the drugs weren't as highly developed means they were OK?

Post racing career I think Millar has been a lot more helpful in discussing doping problems than Kelly, who glosses over it almost to the point of denial.

I like David Millar. I think he has been a brilliant addition to the ITV4 team. His technical insider knowlege is superb and gives a real birds eye view point of whats going on. I like Ned too but sometimes i just wish he would shut up and leave it to David.

As for his drugs cheating. He held his hands up and paid his dues unlike the vast majority of those that get caught. I hope he stays for many years to come.
