Am I the only one hearing this?

So often he will replied with "yes, well ler...........". Made me cringe with goose bump.

Moment: pronounced as moment-ch. Many more words end with pronouncing ch, ch and more ch.

His native is english right, ok Irish. Does all Irish pronounce like that? Am curious.

I'm not taking credit away from him as his one of the most decorated cyclist. But are they short of experience and better commentators?

BTW, I have nothing against him personally.

The other habit that annoys me is when asked a question people begin the answer with "No" and then go on to agree with the questioner.

It is easy to criticize but could you do it? Commentating non-stop for 3 hours and more can't be that easy, even with the ads in between.

I rather enjoy the commentaries ... but what gets me is their constant mispronunciation of place names. The same team seems to have been covering the tour since time immemorial, yet they contrive to remain utterly clueless as to how to pronounce the names of the towns and villages it passes through. You would think that half of it would sink in over time by a process of osmosis. Yet they remain steadfastly unaware of how all the locals they speak to, and all the other reporters in the adjoining commentary boxes say the names. In mitigation, I know there are regional variations in the pronunciation of French place names, but you'd think they would prep for it at the beginning of each working day. I sense they must me having one hell of a jolly every moment they are not actually on air.

Also, and forgive me for saying this, if you're going to criticise someone for their pronunciation of a language, it would probably be best to first get your own house in order.

What is wrong with the phrase 'goose bump'? It's not something that would make me cringe, it's a phrase I've used often since childhood. My sister says 'goose bumples' some sort of cross between bumps and pimples I am guessing.
