The route has been leaked 8 days early. No profiles yet but it includes a 6.1km prologue plus 38km & 52km TTs. This might suit a certain British rider :excl:

Or two. But also Tony Martin and some of the other riders who can both test and climb...

Oh no not the boring prologue again!! time trails in a grand tours a tedious enough without a shortened version I thought they got the tour spot on this year even some of the fat stages had a nasty kick at the end which added to the entertainment and ensured the stages were not as cut and dried as have been in the past

So now we go back to the days of a rider in yellow who will probably keep it for days and all for a poxy flat out 10 minutes at the start

Oh no does anybody remeber the GAN yellow jersey days hmmm dont think that shirt ever finished a race did it? this year the 3 grand tours were the best ever Contador's epic performances in the giro which no doubt put paid to his tour ambitions Evans's TDF what a fantastic result for all of Racing given its tarnished image in recent years and last but not least the epic battles between froome wiggins and eventual winner Cobo in the vuelta. How good does that get.

If he rides Bertie will have this one in the bag

Followed by Tony Martin

Is Martin such a prolific climber? He went well in Paris-Nice, but haven't seen much evidence in the last 12 months?

It is generally acknowledged that he's been held back in order to provide maximum power for Cavendish over the last few kilometres in the stages which matter for points. If he's let off the leash, he can certainly climb.

What's wrong with a prologue to introduce the public to the riders and get the race started and someone in yellow? Much better than a TTT imo, which always skews the results for the rest of the race.

+1

Mr 53/11 is gonna tear it up over this route - if Bertie doesn't ride then Tony's gonna take it !

It was noticeable how much slimmer Tony Martin is these days. I think he'll try to become a GCer but I'm not convinced yet that he's a good enough climber. Mind you, I said that about Wiggo
