I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I just gave it a go, too. £12.95 is too steep! I've never heard of Tchibo before, tbh.

Ah, I didn't check that bit.

I bought some jerseys from them about 3 years ago and don't remember the carriage being so high.

They've obviously changed their rates.

Oh well, it's there if anyone wants to use it.

Cheers,
Shaun

It must be a mistake I should think?

I bought some the last time Admin posted a link to them, fabulous jerserys for the money, too
P&P was nowhere near that figure.

Good colour range ...... not! Decathlon's basic s/s jersey is 7.99 (pink 6.95 on offer) and 3.95 carriage - wide range of colours too (inc. black)

Seems they've put up their delivery charges *considerably* as I've bought from Tchibo before and the charges were never that high. At that level of delivery charge, I won't be buying again. Shame, as Tchibo stuff is good value otherwise.

Edit: I've just sent an email to Tchibo querying the level of charge (it shows as 12.95 in Euros too) as it certainly never used to be so high. I'm hoping they've just got a 'misprint'

I've had a response from Tchibo

"Dear xxxxx

Thank you very much for your email.

We must apologise for the displeasure we caused you by increasing the postage and handling fees for deliveries to the UK and we would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the background regarding this decision:

A fundamental criterion for this decision was the large increase in diesel prices. This resulted in a considerable increase in our logistics costs.

Unfortunately, we have also recorded a large drop in orders in the UK during the past months, which has led to an increase in the variable costs per order.

Thus, in order to be able to continue to offer our UK customers the possibility to purchase high-quality and innovative Tchibo products in the future, we unfortunately had to pass on part of the increased costs involved to our customers. We decided to increase the postage and handling fees as it was not our wish to have to increase the actual product prices.

We hope you understand and accept this necessary measure and that we will see you again soon at Tchibo.

We look forward to welcoming you at
www.tchibo.eu again soon.

Your tchibo.eu-team"

Ah well, they were good when they had reasonable delivery charges, but at the current level I won't be using them again. Shame.

I ordered something from them in January and the postage was about 12.95 which has put me off ordering from them since.

Their postage prices seemed to drastically rise around the time their shops closed. I used to have 2 of their shops a convenient distance away, but they're just mail order now!

So, on recording a large drop in UK orders they decided to make it LESS attractive in the hope that more people would order from them???

Do they really think that £12.95 p+p will increase their UK orders? Sounds to me like they have given up on the UK market completely.

PS - sorry HobbesChoice - didn't see your post until after I'd clicked the pqr button!

I was looking at their site yesterday, following the link above. The Mrs was looking over my shoulder and kindly informed me that they have a store at the Dockside Outlet Centre in Chatham. Apparently they stock a range of stuff which is not consistent but might be worth popping in from time to time to see what they have. Value seems really good.
Let just hope they haven't added £12.95 to every item to cover the cost of shipping it here, and then added another few quid on for it being in a shop!!!!!

They used to have stores in both Windsor and Maidenhead, but their closest now appears to be Uxbridge.

They were pretty good at low-value stuff but £12.95 per order will just kill their market.

Strange that we are at £12.95 when most of mainland Europe is €5.95. Although the prices in sterling are over 10% cheaper than in Euro, with that cycling shirt at £12 or €15.
