My bike currently resides in the kitchen, which in a tamed down version of my other halfs words, is not ideal!!

My only other option is to store the bike in the cupboard under the stairs but for the bike to fit i would need to remove the front wheel!!

My question is, is removing the wheel on a regular basis, 3-4 times a week, gonna have any sort of consequences to the wheel, forks etc. in the long run?! the wheels are quick release!!

No. That's what it's supposed to do! Just make sure that the brake pads are clear of the tyre before you try to 'bop' it out - many types of brake caliper have their own quick release mechanism - if not, you could damage the sidewall of the tyre a little.

Yeah the brakes do have a quick release system!!

Thanks, I did think it would be ok but wasn't sure if over use would affect something over time.

Absolutely fine, just a pain, but you do have to 'compromise'...... chuck all the other rubbish out of the under stairs cupboard whilst at it............then make it the bike store......

would the other half fit under the stairs instead without removing anything?

She would yeah, then I could keep the bike at the bottom of the bed, just to keep an eye on it!!

If my rear deraileur didn't go zipping halfway down the chain every time I take the back wheel off, my bike would be living in my bedroom, as opposed to under a tarpaulin, locked to a water-butt...(empty, but measures 3mx2mx1m, so no-ones gonna be making away with it anytime soon....
